My name is Hélène Gatland and I have been passionately caring for children, from newborn to adolescents, since the turn of the century. I am a French child psychologist and hold a Diploma of Children’s Services, Working with Children Check and first aid, CPR and anaphylaxis certificates.
My experience with children is extremely varied having worked internationally as a psychologist, teacher, nanny and, most recently, educator. During this time, I have taken a particular interest in introducing second languages to children.
For the past six years, I have dedicated myself to Le Cocon Family Day Care in Lennox Head. My work has been formally recognised by the parliament of NSW and I have received Family Day Care Australia's Regional Educator of the Year Award for the past two years. This year, I was also fortunate enough to take home the top educator award for NSW/ACT.

My wealth of knowledge and experience allows me to quickly identify and understand the needs and wants of each child and respond to them appropriately. When interacting with children, my priority is to develop healthy, secure and caring relationships. To achieve this, I use observation and adapt my approach according to the needs and interests of each child.
As a nanny, I become part of the family and am here to support parents during any challenges they have. I also bring with me a wide range of Montessori-based educational resources.
Another of my passions is the health of the planet and its inhabitants. My volunteering experiences around the world and own personal research have been the main motivating factors for offering the healthiest, most natural environment possible for children.
